Karen Burbank

Karen joins the Coalition as Administrative Coordinator and brings over 30 years of database expertise to this position. As Administrative Coordinator, she oversees maintaining the MemberClicks database for accuracy, as well as assisting members with queries, including event registrations, membership renewals, and login issues.

Prior to ICGS, Karen worked for both for- and non-profit entities as a database professional in Boston, Manhattan, and New Mexico. Most recently, she held the role of Director of Administration for a NM childhood poverty policy non-profit, where she was responsible for office administration, bookkeeping, and maintaining the fundraising database. While there, she performed timely data entry over multiple platforms, and ensured multiple databases were accurate. Previously, she was Advancement Associate at a grade 7-12 independent school in NM, where she was a full-charge Advancement database management administrator, performing data analysis and comprehensive data entry for constituent records. Additionally, she served as a participating member of the school’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice team. She also has extensive experience with event coordination, inventory and controls, and publications. Karen brings outstanding operations assurance as well as accurate and timely accounting and reporting administration to ICGS.

Karen holds multiple degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, graduating cum laude with both a BA in Japanese language and literature, and, through Amherst College, a BA in Art History. She occasionally teaches a fantastic art history lecture on Japanese woodblock prints and other Japanese decorative arts.
