Kathleen Osborne

Kathleen’s work includes enhancing strategic communications efforts with member schools, amplifying the advocacy work of the Coalition, and articulating the many benefits of girls’ schools through targeted public and media relations efforts and creative community-building initiatives. She also is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Coalition’s professional development special events—including conferences, symposiums, and online initiatives.
Kathleen has had the privilege to have a front-row seat in witnessing the incredible transformational power of girls’ schools. Her own daughters spent their primary, middle, and upper school years at Hathaway Brown, a girls’ school in Shaker Heights, Ohio, from which they are now proud graduates. And Kathleen herself was a communications professional at Hathaway Brown for 13 years, ending her tenure as the school’s Chief Marketing & Communication Officer in early 2020, before she and her husband relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Most recently, Kathleen was Director of Communications for Santa Fe Preparatory School, a coed independent school for students in grades 7-12.
A seasoned professional communicator, Kathleen’s varied career has included positions in marketing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, in customer service for a global insurance company, in police and education beat reporting at a midsized daily newspaper, in mental health services at a residential treatment center for adolescents, and in the psychiatric intensive care unit of an inner-city hospital. She also has worked as a freelance writer, editor, and public relations specialist, and she had her own consulting firm for 10 years, with clients ranging from start-up businesses to Fortune 100 companies. She holds a degree in English and psychology from John Carroll University, and her work has received numerous awards and has appeared in many regional and national publications.
