ABOUT LEAN IN GIRLS
From an early age, girls begin to internalize limiting stereotypes about what they can achieve. Lean In Girls is a free, evidence-based leadership curriculum that helps girls ages 11–15 build confidence, find their voice, and reject limiting messages about what they can and can’t do.
The curriculum includes 15 flexible, one-hour sessions that explore key topics such as:
- Taking positive risks
- Reframing failure
- Understanding and addressing bias
- Practicing allyship
Designed to fit seamlessly into advisory, SEL, enrichment, or afterschool programs, these classroom-ready sessions combine strength-building with real conversations about the barriers girls face—helping them develop confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of agency.
As one girls’ school student shared, “Lean In Girls utterly transformed me! I went from whispering in corners to thundering on classroom stages!”

“Lean In Girls gives our students the opportunity to challenge themselves and think about their leadership in more complex ways. We offer this program, we think it’s amazing—and we believe every school should offer it to their girls too.” – Camille Seals, Head of School, Columbus School for Girls
