Headways™ for Admissions & Enrollment Professionals is co-facilitated by Kimberly Carter, Executive Director, Enrolment Management, Branksome Hall, and Kat Simison, Director of International Recruitment, Assistant Dean of Equity & Inclusion, & International Student Advisor at Miss Porter’s School.

All meetings will occur from 1-2 p.m. ET. / 6-7 p.m. GMT.


Headways™for Admissions/Enrollment Professionals is open to all Admissions/Enrollment and Financial Aid Office positions including but not limited to VPs, Heads, Directors, Assistant Directors, Managers, Associates, Coordinators, etc.


October 14, 2022: Knowing your Network

Topics to consider: group introductions; utilizing one another; remembering to look inward at your institution and beyond the admission office; collaborating with advancement and development, academics, diversity, equity and inclusion, student affairs for retention, recruiting, and programming


December 9, 2022: All Things Admission Process!

Topics to consider: breaking down the admission process; recruiting (travel, virtual, on-campus events); assessment: application & evaluation, interview questions; online application platforms/standardized application & testing, process systems (reading applications/assessment); composition of admission committee; admit & retain: events, touch points; surveys; preparing for transition to your school


February 3, 2023: What does Diversity, Equity, Justice & Inclusion mean for girls’ schools and your school specifically?

Topics to consider: what do you know about DEI work? How do cultural identifiers show up at your schools and through your admission process? How does gender identity specifically impact your guidelines for applicants and current students? How do you develop admission policies with a DEI lens? What professional development is offered to your admission staff for DEI work?


April 21, 2023: How can data drive your office decisions?

Topics to consider: Institutional limits and priorities (what metrics are you using?); thoughtful planning prior to committee conversations; using existing research; types of benchmarking; conducting surveys; survey tools; financial aid vs. full paying families; diversifying student body; retention efforts.


May 12, 2023: The next 12 months: How to use Marketing & Communications to map out your year ahead

Topics to consider: mapping out a 12 month plan during the spring for the following year, including social media, admissions events, number of touches with prospective families, feeder school visits, feeder programs, school fair attendance, print vs. electronic publications, paid advertising, use of video, and website content
