Director of Advancement

Crofton House School

Established in 1898, Crofton House School (CHS) is one of Canada’s leading independent schools for girls. Located on the west side of Vancouver, Crofton House School is home to over 900 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 and almost 200 outstanding staff. A supportive community, an emphasis on collaboration, innovative teaching and learning practices, and world-class facilities combine to create a unique girl-centred learning environment where each student is inspired every day to strive for their best self.

Reporting to the Deputy Head, Community Engagement and Partnerships, the Director of Advancement is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and directs all advancement initiatives for the School. Serving on the Advancement Committee of the Board, the Director aligns advancement initiatives to the strategic direction of the School with the support of a high-performing team across major gifts, annual and planned giving, stewardship, special events, and alumnae relations. The Director works closely with the Head of School, the Chair of the Foundation and the Community Engagement and Partnerships team. As an ambassador for CHS, the Director builds relationships within the School and the broader community.

The ideal candidate is a successful senior advancement professional with a proven track record of increasing philanthropic revenue and generating support for financial assistance. Experience growing an endowment and an appreciation for the unique culture of an independent school will be of particular interest to the selection committee. Success in securing major and principal gifts within a sophisticated, multi-constituent environment is essential. Known for being a warm and engaging leader, the ideal candidate is an outstanding team player and a productive and positive contributor. They demonstrate the ability to build connections within their community and foster deep and meaningful relationships.
